Abstract

The production of contemporary literature on adventure sports and nature-based endurance disciplines has expanded globally in recent years. While this body of work offers valuable insights into the social realities experienced by its protagonists from both individual and collective perspectives, there remains a notable lack of theoretical and methodological tools for analysing these sporting practices within territorial contexts. This article seeks to strategically harness literary resources by developing an analytical tool capable of examining the multidimensional territorial dynamics experienced by these actors. To this end, a qualitative methodology is employed, incorporating a socio-territorial approach and applying textual analysis to selected works of contemporary literature. The discipline of trail running in Latin America is adopted as a case study. The findings demonstrate that, through the careful selection and analysis of literary sources, it is possible to gain a deep understanding of how these subjects construct space and interact with their environment, revealing a distinctive interplay between sport, culture, and community.
