Abstract

Current paper presents an analysis of the resources in Esgos, a municipality in the Ribeira Sacra region severely affected by demographic imbalance. The goal of our paper is to analyze the potential of these resources in order to formulate revitalization proposals, serving as an example to other depopulated regions. As well as consulting key informants, data obtained was spatialized by digitizing the inventoried resources onto the municipal cartographic base, creating an ad hoc point layer. Based on the calculations of Tourism Potential Index, a wide range of actions were disclosed in order to foster tourism.
