Empowerment of women in establishments of lodging in the metepec state of Mexico

The importance of tourism as a generator of jobs is highly recognized internationally. However, in Latin America and particularly in Mexico, the participation of women in this sector has been scarcely analyzed, and even less the influence on their empowerment. For this reason, the objective of the article is to analyze the degree of women´s empowerment in lodging establishments in the city of Metepec. A quantitative method was applied. These results provide the basis for future studies and the design of public policies linked to tourism.
